LORD HAWKE’S TEAM. DATES FOR THE WELLINGTON .MATCH. According to a Christchurch correspondent, the following dales have boon allotted by the New Zealand Cricket Council as the days upon which will be played the match between Lord Hawke’s team and tho Wellington -Association's representatives: January 17 (Saturday; and the succeeding Monday and Tuesday. SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIP, The resumption of the senior championship games at the Basin Reserve on Saturday' afternoon attracted a fair attendance of tho public. Midland had made 151 in its first innings, and Wellington resumed batting with lb runs on for tho loss of a'wicket. McMahon three for SO, Topp ono for 17. The Gas Company won by 49- runs. THIRD-CLASS CHAMPIONSHIP. Tho Karori-New+own match resulted in an unexpected victory for the former team, who scored 112 in their second innings. “Extras” was top'sooro with 24, W. E. Dasent 22. Cathie 17. and G. Warren 10 also reached double figures. Newtown required 87 to win, but they only obtained 41, and were defeated by 46 runs. Bennett (firo for 27) and Miller (three for 21) bawled veil for Newtown, LoVe and Hill dividing honours for Rarori. Tho Virion-Midland A heat resulted in the defeat of last year's champions by

Casey’s Hotel, Lower Hutt, on Saturday evening, when it was decided to play junior representative matches against Wellington Junior Association on tho 22nd January (Anniversary Day) and against Manawatu, at Palmerston, on Now Vrar’.s Day. It was also agreed to play senior ropresentativo matches against Manawatu and Wellington representatives on Christinas Day and Boxing Day. Tho Postponement Committee of the association resigned, and tho following wore, elected ;—Messrs Bcrntsen, Ryder and Dalgleish. Pctone United defeated Wadestowu by 37 runs. Pctone scored 81 and 91 (Dalgleish 21, Barber 34); Wadestown, 53 and 82 (Orchard 16, Hay 22, C. Nowbold 10, Wiflin 15 not out). Dalgleish (firo for 13) trundled well for Petonc, Merton and Orchard dividing honours for Wadestown.

Gordon McDonald scored 102 not out for tho Ivarori School in a match with tho second eleven of tho Thorndon School at TCnrori on Saturday.
