TJio Pacific Cable Board has advised tho federal X J ostmaster tliat tlio following rates have been fixed for messages from Australia, New Zealand and Norfolk Island to tho United States:- —Ordinary rates, 2s 2d per word, plus extra rates ranging from 2d to Gd for various Stales according to their distance. Press rates are as follows: —Between Britain and Australia, Is per word; between Canada and Australia, 9d, plus half the extra rate for eacli State as indicated above. For ordinary messages tho*rate in each case includes Australasia. Terminal rates of 2d per word. Press messages will be accepted subject to the usual conditions. *
