PRESS ASSOCIATION. AUCKLAND, November 22. The Auckland Amateur Athletic and Cycle Club’s spring carnival was held on the Domain cricket ground this afternoon iu ideal weather. The attendance was about fifteen hundred, and the track was in good order. L. B. Webster, of New Plymouth, the sprint champion of New Zealand, won the 100yds Handicap from scratch in lOsec and the quartermile from scratch in Slseo. -. ’ L. B. Webster is a member of the Wellington Amateur Athletic Club. At Ibo New Zealand championship meeting last December he won the 220yus and 440ydg championships. -He also ran second in" the 410yds event at the Australasian meeticg two days later. ' Webster did a satisfactory trial at New Plymouth a week ago before leaving for Auckland. The favourable weather and fast track account for the excellence of the times put up on Saturday, which are pnlj a shade outside the records.
