THE VOLUNTEERS.
WELLINGTON GUARDS. The A and B classes of this company held their first competition on Saturday for the third lot of trophies presented for shooting this season. There are three prizes in each class, and four matches have to be fired—A class firing nine shots per range, and B class seven shots, the highest aggregates (including handicap) becoming the winners. The ranges for the first competition were 200 and 500 yards, and Bisley targets were used. Among the prizes aro special prizes given by . Dr Cahill and Captain Harcourt.
