ACTIVITY OF THE MULLAH. ILLNESS OF COLONEL SWAYNE. (Received November 9, 4.50 p.m.) LONDON, November 8. Colonel Swayno is ill, and has sailed for England. Tho Mullah, with 2000 riflemen, a Maxim gun and fifteen thousand" spearmen, with reserve supplies of camels and sheep, is a few miles from Bohotleh. Tiio British garrison of five hundred, with two guns and two Maxims, is entrenched in a stone fort. Lieutenant-Colonel Manning disbands the Somali levies, retaining a few picked mounteds. Ho has recommended that three months’ independent reserve supplies aro necessary in order to establish wells and good depots and transport reserves for tho lino of communication. Somali spies report that a large caravan of rifles, under a European, are traversing tho Wclbe country, to join tho Mullah.
