CONTROL OF RELIGIOUS INSTRUCTION. LONDON, November 2. In the consideration of the Education Bill in committee in tho House, of Commons, Colonel Konyon-Slaney, Conservative member for the Newport Division of Shropshire, moved an amendment giving- the managers of schools tho control of religious instruction. • This amendment the Government accepted, though High 1 Church members of the House protested against it as being an insult to the clergy. Clause 8 of the Bill has now been passed.
