MANAWATU POULTRY ASSOCIATION.
The first show of this Association was held in the Theatre Royal at Palmerston North on the 30th and 31st July last. Palmerston North again established a record, for the entries received in the poultry classes numbered nearly 1000, and 200 entries which came in late could not be accepted for want of space. The Association is to be congratulated on the show, for not only were a large number of first-class birds on exhibition, but the attendance was good, and the result will be a large credit balance. The members and officials of the Manawatn Poultry Association are live men, and they are determined to make Palmerston North the centre of the poultry industry. The Associatioif has. purchase da valuable site, on which will be erected a poultry depot, with cool storage, and a large hall, to be used for show purposes. Several large cash prizes of A2O each will be given in the utility classes at the great autumn fair ana show, to be held in July, 1903.
