EVIDENCE AT THE INQUIRY
SYDNEY, August 22. The inquiry into the recent disaster in tho Mount Kembla mine is proceeding. ... One of tho mine deputies, in his evidence, stated that all the working places were examined on the morning of tho explosion, and reported ail safe. Seven days before the disaster ho discovered black damp in the abandoned workings, but did not report it. Tho Hospital Saturday Committee will make a general appeal to the public to-morrow in aid of tlio Mount Kembla relief fund.
