ILLUMINATIONS IN LONDON. LONDON, August 12. The King is highly gratified id all ■ lie circumstances attending the ( oronation, and at I be excellence of the arrangements and the demeanour of the people. His Majesty has bestowed on Hie Archbishop of Canterbury the Royal Victoria chain, an order which the King has founded for bestowal on special occasions. ' Tho streets of London were thronged last evening to view the illuminations. The crowds were denser than on Peace night. All vehicular traffic was suspended. SPLENDID DONATION TO A HOSPITAL FUND. LONDON, August 12. The King received from the Lord Mayor of London (Sir J. G. Dimsdalc), Sir Savilo CTwslcy. and Viscount Duncannon the Coronation gift of £lls,Got) subscribed from all classes of the community. His Majesty immediately banded tbo amount to the Prince of Males, and directed it to be used to augment tbo London Hospital fund. He expressed delight that such progress bad been made towards freeing the hospital from debt, and declared that be would not cease to strive for bhe accomplishment of this object while God spared bis life. The King referred feelingly to the fact that tbo gift included twenty thousand donations in pence from the workers and tiio poor. * AN ADDRESS FROM THE COLONIAL PREMIERS. (Received August 14, 1.6 a.m.) LONDON, August 13. The Premiers have adopted an address for presentation to the King tendering their heartfelt congratulations on tho Coronation. Throughout the British realms, they state, it is a matter of great rejoicing that bis Majesty’s health is restored, and is giving no further cause for anxiety. On behalf of their devoted subjects they express great joy at the prospect of a long and prosperous reign. SYDNEY. August 13. Tho State Assembly' has adopted an address congratulating tbo King on bis Coronation. Tho Hon J. G. Duffy (formerly Post-master-General), in a temperate speech, entered a protest against the Coronation oath, which, lie said, contained gross, gratuitous and humiliating insults against Catholics, who had fought nobly on behalf of tho Empire.
