The Opawa was unable to get away for Blenheim this morning, as intended, but will sail at 3 p.m. to-day. _ Tho Government steamer Tutanekai leit this port yesterday afternoon for Karangi Point lighthouse. From there she proceeds to Milford Sound .thence to Oreymouth. _ The intercolonial steamer Waihora leit for Sydney on Saturday with 500 tons of cargo. Of this amount 400 tons was sent from Southern ports, and the remainder from Wellington. This is the largest cargo sent, by direct steamer since the federal tariff was enforced. From Taranaki the Eotoiti on Saturday brought to Wellington 1722 boxes butter and 150 cases cheese for transhipment to Australia; also a quantity for the local market. _ . . ■ According to advice received by the local office of the New Zealand Shipping Company the Tongariro is expected to reach this port from London via Auckland on the 4th May. To-day the barque Buthwell will be hauled into the stream, and sail for New castle. The White Star liner Athenic reached this port from Napier last evening. The vessel will toontinue loading cargo at this port, and sail for London on the Bth May. The Jupiter left Lyttelton on Saturday for South Africa via s Newcastle. The vessel took away 89.999 bags of oats. The barque Gladys, from Liverpool for Dunedin and Wellington, was spoken on February 13th, in latitude 24deg north, longitude 20deg west. Tho Shaw, Savill and Albion Comsteamer Rangatira arrived at Fort Chalmers on Saturday from London, she has about 3000 tons of cargo for Dunedin.
