A singular murder trial has taken, place at Perth. Three men, named M“Kay, Campbell, and Cullen were charged with the murder of a man named Gray, in Hay street, on January 24. Gray had been previously threatened by accused and was literally hammered and kicked to death in front of the Criterion Hotel. When the case came on one of the witnesses declared that he had been threatened with serious consequences if he gave incriminatory evidence against the accused. _ Later on another witness being called it wa a found that he was missing, and it was ascertained that he had left the state, having also been intimidated. The jury, after having been locked up all night, found the three prisoners guilty, recommending Campbell and Onllen to mercy. Sentence of- death was passed.
