ACCIDENTS.
(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) FEILDING, March 12. . A young lady named McDonough met with a bicycle accident yesterday. Her dress caught in the back wheel *and she was thrown on the ground. Her collarbone was broken and her shoulder fractured. PRESS ASSOCIATION. s NAPIER, March 12. A serious trap accident occurred at Hastings this evening. A trap belonging to Mr J.'MoNiven, and driven by an employee, was proceeding along Kararhu road, when the horse ran into s a trap driven by Mr H. Hawthorne, and containing a lady and child, who were thrown out and somewhat badly hurt. The horse attached to Hawthorne’s trap kicked himself clear and bolted, running into and smashing a trap driven by Mr O. McLeod. Continuing on, the animal ran into another trap driven by Mr H. A. Mossman, and also containing Mrs Mossman, senr.,‘ and a child. This trap was also smashed; and its occupants thrown out, the child suffering concussion of the brain. .The horse which had been attached to Hawthorne’s trap, having broken its leg in the last collision, had to be destroyed by a constable. NELSON, March 12. A girl named Jessie Robson, aged thirteen years, was drowned in the Upper Waingapeka river on Sunday. She had been sent down the valley for mails, and on not returning, her father wenc in search. He found her horse on the river bank near a crossing and the girl's body in the river some chains down stream. NEW PLYMOUTH, March 12. At an inquest to-day on Thomas Nyhane, killed on the railway near Inglewood on Tuesday, a verdict of accidental death was returned. GISBORNE, March 12. Mr Percival Barker, a leading pastoralist, died to-day. He was found unconscious, evidently having been thrown from his horse near the homestead.
