WELLINGTON CITY COUNCIL. SPECIAL LOANS FOR TRAMWAY CONSTRUCTION AND STREET PAVING. NOTICE is hereby given that the following Resolutions were passed at a Special Meeting of the City Council of Wellington held on THURSDAY, the 17th day oiJOetober, 1901, viz.: I.—ELECTRIC TRAMWAYS. In pursuance of the powers and author!, tics vested in the Wellington City Council by the Municipal Corporations Act, 1900, the Tramways Act, 1E94, and the Rating Act, 1894. and the Acts amending the same and of all other powers and authorities in this behalf, the said Council hereby resolves (by way of special order) that a Special Rate of Twopence in the Pound upon the ratable valyies of all ratable property in the City of Wellington as appearing in the ’Valuation Roll for the time being in force (and on the basis of the annual value), bo and the same hereby is made and struck for the purpose of providing the interest and sinking fund upon and in re. spect of the Special Loan of Two H undred and Twenty five Thousand Pounds, authorised by a Poll of the Electors taken on the 19th day of April, 1991, to be raised for the con. struction, of an Electric Tramway (which said loan is more particularly described in a notice under the hand of J. B. Page, Town Clerk, ad. vertised in the “New Zealand Times’" and “Evening Post” newspapers, and intituled “In the matter of the Tramways Act, 1894, and of the Municipal Corporations Act. 1900,” and dated the 16th day of March, 1S01). And the Council further resolves that the said Sinking Fund shall consist of an annual sum of Four Thou, sand Five Hundred Pounds. And the Council also resolves that the said Special Rate shall be payable in two equal instalments on the Ist day of January and the Ist day of July in every year, and the said Special Rato is hereby made a continuing rate during the currency of the said loan as described in the said notice of the 16th day of March. 1901, and shall bo levied yea- by year without further proceeding hy the Council until the said Special Loan is paid off. And the Council further resolves that the said Special Rate shall be in addition to any othe r security for the said loan or the interest thereof. lI.—WOOD PAVING. E. Page, Town Clerk, dated the 16th day of March. 1900, advertised in the “New Zealand Times” and “Evening Post” newspapers. And the Council further resolves that the said Sinking Fund shall consist of an annual sum of Five Hundred and Fifty Pounds. And the Council also resolves that the said Special Rate shall be payable in two equal instalments on the Ist day of January and the Ist day of July in every year. And the said Special Kate is hereby made a eon. tinning rate during the currency oi the said loan as described in the said notice of the 16th day of March, 1901, ( and shall be levied year by year without further proceeding by the Council until the said Special Loan is paid off. The above several Resolutions will be submitted for confirmation at the Ordinary Meeting of the Council to be held at the Council Chamber, Brandon street, on THURSDAY, the fourteenth day of November 1901, at 7.30 p.m. B.
