IN PARLIAMENT. In the matter of a Local Bill intituled “An Act to Amend the Wellington Harbour Board and Coi--jjoiation Empowering Act, 1898,” and authorise certain Compensation Claims for land taken under that Act, to be re heard under the provisions' of “The Public Works Act, 1894.” PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given that a Local Bill, under the short title of “The Wellington Harbour Board and Corporation Empowering Act, 1898, Amendment Act, 1901,” will bo introduced into Parliament at the present session thereof, and that the objects which the said Bill is intended to effect are as follows : 1. To provide that all claims for Compensation which have been heard by the Compensation Court, constituted under the provisions of "The Public Works Act, 1894,” lor lands in the City of Wellington taken by the Wellington Harbour Board by Proclamation issued under the provisions of "The Wellington Harbour Board and Cor. ■ poration Empowering Act, 1898,” and "The Public Works Act, 1894.” may be re-heard by a fresh Compensation Court duly constituted under the said last.mentioued Act. 2. To provide, further, that if any award made by such fresh Compensation Court shall be greater or less, in amount than the 'list award made by the former Compensation, Court, the excess, if any, with costs allowed the Claimant, shall be paid by the Wellington Harbour Board to the Claim, ant; and the deficiency, it any. with costs allowed the Board, shall be refunded bv the Claimant to the said Board. 3. To provide, further, that if any ' award made bv such fresh Com pensation Court shall he the same as that of the prior award, the Claimant shall hear the entire costs of the re-hearing. A copy of this Bill has been deposited at the Stipendiary Magistrate’s Court house at Wellington, and will there remain open to public inspection at any } time during ordinary office hours without I fee.
