PALMERSTON NORTH.
(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) Friday, 7 p.m. The Government having intimated that it will accept the services of the se» nior cadet corps proposed to he formed in town as a link between the school cadet corps and Volunteers, enrolling Ihag commenced with satisfactory results. A meeting of the Citizens’ Committee will he held shortly to arrange as to a supply of uniforms and the eelctiou of officers. The average age of the boys joining is fifteen years. At a meeting of the College street School Committee last evening, it was stated that the medals struck by the Government in commemoration of the Royal visit to New Zealand would bo distributed among the s chool children during next week. The committee decided to ask the Education Board to es* tablish cookery classes at the school.
