United I. defeated Karori I .at .Karori by 7 goals to X. Tie play was very even in tin; first spell, the scores at halftime being 1 United 2, Karori 1. In the second spell United added 5 goals. Smythe secured ■I), Kuddock 2. Organ 1, and Weybourna 1. Mackenzie scored with a fine shot for Karon. Smythe played an excellent forward game for United, as did t/Sullivan and Weybourne among the backs. Mackenzie and Campbell showed np the Best among the Karori men, the first namfd playing particularly well. Mr Bridge wiis referee ■» The Wellington 11. v. The United quickly r ealised that a “hard fight was before them. They fought with great determination, and had the best of the game up to half time. ' They only succeeded, however, in scoring one coal, several easy ct ances being missed. In the second spell Waiwetu made the game very fast, and gradually wore their opponents down, prov.ing themselves to be in much better fo-r.m than the town team. Sweeping down the field time after time, the fast forwards of Waiwetu secured four more goals, and although the. United team rallied o ccasionally they we unable to add to thivr score. The suburban club has picked np the game very quickly, and will prows hard to beat in the future. The good sjurit in which all the games are played at .the Hutt is a very pleasing feature of this junior fix. tnres.
