MASTERTON.
(Br Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) Thursday, 7.30 p.m. In the trial of Emily Began, of Featherston, on a second charge of perjury, arising out of the recent indecent assault case, the jury found accused not guilty. In the Thursday Cup football match, played- here to-day, the Masterton Albions defeated the Carterton Rovers by a penalty goal and a try to nil. Mr Brand, M.R.C.V.S., is at present in this district, and will probably be main here some time. A considerable number of sheep in this district have recently been worried by dogs. In the Bankruptcy Court to-day, Judge Kettle granted discharges in several cases. F. D. Felling, bankrupt, of Eketahuna, was publicly examined. The sawmilling industry is just now very active. Two or three fresh sawmills are just starting operations in this district.
