A FIREMAN’S FATE.
Mr A. W. Pearce, thirty-one years of age, a resident of Campbell street, the Spit, Napier, and a native o' Dunedin, was for a number of years employed as a fireman with the Union Steamship Co. He tells the following true narrative: “Whilst engaged in seafaring pursuits I visited many places, having, as fireman, to work very barer. It is now ten years ago, that w.Hilst at sea the worst experience of my life befell me. Sudden change of temperature from the heated engine room, with a fresh oreeze on deck, induced sciatica. First, I felt a sharp, shooting pain in the ankle, then it extended to the hip. At night the pain was especially severe, and I got but little rest. One day, whilst on shore, I was attacked so suddenly by a sharp pain that I could scarcely walk. Several doctors attended me, but I seemed to derive no benefit.” “You spared no expense?” “No; 1 must have spent one hundred pounds without gaining any benefit. About four years ago 1 road particulars of terribly severe cases of sciatica which had been cured by Dr. Williams’ pink pills for pal© people. I thought I would try them, and did so. I had to persevere with them before much improvement was noticeable, but gradually the pains lessened and I felt stronger and brighter; by continuing I was absolute, ly cured of sciatica, and now I am in very good health. I know of others who have been benefited by this reliable medicine*” The causes of sciatica are anaemia, debility, nerve injury, exposure to cold and wet: Dr. Williams’ pink pills are the one medicine which effectually cure these ailments. By enriching tho blood and retoning the nerves, they cure chronic colds, consumption of the bowels’ and lungs, bronchitis, rheumatism, lumbago, dyspepsia, dysentery, premature loss of manly strength, etc.; they are specie effective as a ladies’ medicine.
