Morpeth, secretary. GOLD RETURNS. PRESS ASSOCIATION. AUCKLAND, Juno 14. During tho fivo weeks ending yesterday, tho gold returns for tho Auckland district have reached a total of £67,738. Tho returns for the first four weeks of the period, representing one man til’s crushing operations by the companies concerned, amount in all to £61,7411, constituting in itself a record for any monthly period in tho history of the fields. The total output is made tip ns follows:—Ohinemuri, £54,244; Thames. £GOSS 3s lOd; Coromandel, £7439 9s 2d. During tho month ending the 31st May, the New Zealand Crown mines treated 2896 tons of ore for a return of bullion valued at £0995. In the same period, the Waitekauri Goldraining Company treated 28(16 tons of ere for a return of bullion valued at £4668. Tho Kauri Freehold Gold Estates Company’s total return for the two months, April and May, is £I2OO from 840 tons treated.

The Last Chance Hydraulic Sluicing Company washed iw 28bz for eight days. The Premier Waikaka Company’s dredge was sold by auction today for £ISOO to Mr J. O. McGeorge, acting on behalf of the Waikaka United Company. The dredge is almost new. The price is not sufficient to pay the company’s debts, and shareholders will get nothing. At a meeting of the shareholders of the Brandy Jack Dredging Company (West Const claimV it was resolved to go into voluntary liquidation. HOKITIKA, Juno 14. The secretary of the Great Woodstock Gold Dredging Company has the following report from Mr F. W. Payne, the companv’s engineer, dated Juno 6th :Tho contract with the Austral Otis Engineering Company, Melbourne, for the supply of machinery, has now been completed. My representative informs me that the machinery is the best h 0 has yet seen. Removing and reconstructing the pontoons have been nearly completed. The boiler is ready for shipment. The Himitangi has brought down a large quantity of dredging material for the Ruby Creek and Totara Flat companies. These dredges ought to be work ing within two months.
