From a capital send off the 'colours of Kaimato was first into prominence, with Rufus and Gavaliero right up. They had not ‘reached tho first jump before Princosh of Thule and Rufus were at the head. On topping the cutting, Hairtrigger took charge, and ho “showed tho way to the jump by the ‘four-furlong post, whoro fiumlial came down, bringing down Cannongato ‘and Nor’-west. Going across the top stretch, Hairtrigger was just clear of Princess of Thule, and then came Rufus, with Oavaliero "next. Going out of the bottom turn, Rufus, Moifaa and Gavaliero closed up "a bit, and "were raoing almost together, a length behind Hairtrigger. Moifa ran up to Hairtrigger and ho was having just a bit tho best of it when they cleared tho next fence, Rufus and Coeur-de-Lion three lengths away next Racing across tho top stretch Coeur-dgXion was up-sides with Hairtrigger. and this pair were running close no to MoifnU, who. was still in charge. Rounding into the straight Coenr-de-Lion came with a great rush, and Gavaliero also threw out a challenge. A great race to the box resulted in favour of Coenr-de-Lion by_ the best part of two lengths from Hairtrigger, who also came on again in the.last bit and beat Cavhliero for second place.
