WANGANUI.
SUDDEN DEATH. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) Monday, 6.10 p.m. Mrs G. S. Bridge, \yife of the chairman of the Education Board, died suddenly this afternoon. She had been ailing for some time. This morning she was much bettor and brighter than for the past two or three weeks. 1 She leaves a family of one daughter and five sons, ’ two of whom are married. Mrs Bridge was a sister of Mesdames P. Bell and H. Hurley (Wanganui),, the Rev James McWilliam (Otaki) and Mr P. McWilliam (Wanganui). In connection with the Trinity College, London, annual theoretical musical knowledge examinations on Saturday last, thirty-five candidates presented themselves at the Wanganui looal centre, as against nineteen last year. At Christ Ghuroh to-morrow (St. Barnabas Day), Mr A. E. Aston, a student of Selwyn College, Dunedin, will be ordained to the office of deacon by the Eight Rev the Bishop of Wellington. Mr Aston will probably be appointed to this parish as assistant curate to -h R Rev T. B. McLean. The foundation stone of the gymnasium to be erected in connection with Trinity Young Men’s Institute was laid on Saturday last.
