TRAINING NOTES. PBESS ASSOCIATION. SYDNEY, April 3. On the tracks this morning. Sagacity, without assistance, cut out a milo in Imin 473 sec, finishing .strongly. Advance, Gunga Din and Cordon wont Mice round at a gallop. The trio kept well together the best part of tuo way. Tlie New Zealander was in great galloping humour, and moved from Ids companions at the distance, beating Gunga Diu by ever a couple of lengths. The time was 2min 35Jsec, the lastmdo being covered in Imiu Clean Sweep and Paul Pry did a circle, hut Paul got the worst of it, although it took ‘2min 39sec to, do the distance. Wakeful and La Carabine ran a mile in Imin uOJsec. The former could have beaten the bid mare easily if required. AUCKLAND, April 3. > This morning Ideal and Menura galloped five furlongs on the course proper in a pleasing manner, and Boreas went four furlongs fast on the tan. Othcra were set the lightest tasks. Okcari, Hohoro and Rosella are mostin request for the Easter Handicap. CHRISTCHURCH, April 3. The only important work done at Riccarton this morning was a gallop between Pampero, Komuri and Canteen. The first-named broke away from the milo and a quarter post with Komuri. Canteen picked them up at the sevenfurloug pest, and beat Pampero at the finish, the time being 2min 13J«ec. BETTING IN AUSTRALIA. (Received April 4, 1.35 a.m.) SYDNEY, April 3. Betting on Wakeful fer the Doncaster Cup has firmed still futher. All the money obtainable was taken at 3 to 1, and she closed at 5 to 2. Subsequently the mare was backed for the Doncaster Cup double at TOO to G.
