The Premier is expected to return to Wellington to-day. Mr B. C. Dean, of the Christchurch Telegraph Office, has been promoted to the head office in Wellington. Mr J. : B; HarcoUrt, who had been incapacitated for several days lately, loft for Nelson Last evening on a short holiday.
Mr Robert ,E. Wood has been ap. jointed assistant manager of tho local jranoh of tho firm, of Messrs Kcmpthorne, Prosser and Co. Mr F. Parsons, o£ Petone, who has been transferred to Addington, was on Tuesday the recipient of a purse of sovereigns by his associates in the Peteno Workshops.
