THE EARTHQUAKE IN TURKEY.

(Received April 2, 6.12 p.m.) LONDON, April 2. The earthquake yesterday morning at Constantinople occurred; during the annual Mahommedan festival of Bairam.

While high officials were passing liefore the Sultan’s throne portions of the coiling and the chandeliers fell, causing a panic. The musicians rushed the doors. The- Sultan rose, but seated himself, and ordered the ceremony tc proceed.
