The game between the representatives of the Wellington and Victoria Clubs in the feathers match, played on the Wellington green, was of an exciting character. At one stage of the twentyfirst head the home team stood to score four points, the game then being fifteen all, but the Victorian skip, with a great effort, disturbed the position of tho jack, and completely altered the complexion of the game by securing a winning position for his club, which then lay one. The Wellington skip proceeded to send up the last bowl of the game,

and, amidst great excitement, the spec, tators realised, as the bowl gradually drew into the space between the Victorian player’s bowl and the jack that, by a shot of splendid judgment , he had succeeded in converting an apparently certain defeat into a victory for his side.
