Arrived—Elizabeth Graham, barque, from Wellington. , The Government steamer Tutanekai left port nt 1.45 yesterday for Nelson with the Premier and Mrs Seddon on board. She is expected hack early on Thursday morning. ' This week’s direct Sydney boat is the Talune, which left Sydney for this port at 9 a.m. last Saturday. She is expected to arrive here to-morrow morning. The Aotea passed the Wellington Heads at eleven o’clock • yesterday morning, bound from Picton to Napier The Tyser liner Mimiro arrived in port from Napier yesterday at 4 p.m. She anchored in the stream, and after taking in 1(100 tons of hunker coal she will sail for London- at about four or five o’clock this afternoon. - The Tyser liner Tndradevi left Lyttelton yesterday morning to pick un the balance of her meat cargo at Napier. She is due in Weßington from Napier in about a week’s time, to take in a quantity of general cargo. The Indradevi will sail for London from this port about March. Captain Butt was entrusted with the work of taking a lighter down to Gisborne for Messrs Lane and Sons, the well-known shin-builders, of Whangnroa. The lighter, which has been named the Titi, is cutter bnilt.and was built to the (frdor of Messrs Kennedy and Bivens, lighter agents at Gisborne. The Titi, which is a notable addition to the fleet of Gisborne lighters, is very faithfully built. She is timbered diagonally, is all coppered fastenings and has no bulwarks, but instead has iron stnunohious. with a wire running through them. The little vessel is insulated from s/.em to stern with (Timice, as she -is intended for taking out frozen meat from the Gisborne Freezing Works. The insulation is well carried out. Three-inch planking is first of all fastened on to the frames, then comes.the packed pumice and this is covered with another three-inch planking well caulked. She will carry several thousand sheep, and when laden draws only four feet. Captain Butt took the Titi from Whangaroa lo Gisborne, loaded—all below the deck—with. 49,000fi of timber and 201) posts. , With this heavy cargo the vessel drew only. Sift forward and 6ft aft.
