POSITION OF VICTORIA. MELBOURNE, February 21; The Victorian Agent-General (Sir Andrew Clarke) has cabled that the. Pacific Cable Board will meet on the 25th irist. It will consider whether w.rjuslilied in signing tho Eastern Exten-hic-n Company’s agreement. Tho Premier (Hon. A. J. Peacock) has informed tho Agcnt-Gcneral thatthe Victorian Government .desired; nothing amounting to a. breach of faith, but would bo glad to have the same advantages of reduced rates on the Eastern Extension line;- ar. were secured to other Australian States, il the Pacific Beard ran approve.
