ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES

An extraordinary accident, fortunately unattended with serious results, happened to Dr Martin in Pino street last evening The doctor, who has just .returned from a visit to the South, was being driven down Pirie street in his buggy, when the horse took fright and commenced tokick, then, getting beyond control of the driver, bolted down the steep decline, leading into Kent, terrace, gaining such impetus that when tiie vehicle at length swerved off the read, it, together with its occupants, was thrown over the fence into a neighbouring garden. Luckily Dr Martin and his grcom were thrown clear, and escaped with a- shaking. The buggy was a good deal knocked about, and tlm horse, a valuable animal, seriously injured. Dr Martin was taken home in a cab, but it is not expected tbai, beyond the shock, lie will suffer any inconvenience as the result of the' accident.
