Air F. 0. Bridgcma>n lias been appointed Consular agent of the United .States at Dunedin.
The following are gazetted officiating ministers under the Marriage Act, 1880: —Rev Richard T. , Mathews, B.A. (Anglican). Revs C. A. Lyon and D. McKoo Wright (Congregational Independent), Rev R. S. Gray (Baptist), and Mr Joseph Foster fChuroh of Christ).
Tho following appointments appear in fins week’s “Gazette”;—Mr T. W. Ynuginm fco be deputy-registrar of births, deaths and .marriages ait Huntcrvillo; Archibald H. Bogle, cadet in the Lands and -Survey Department; Florence E. McMillan, cadette in the Lands and Deeds Department.
Mr Maurice 'Cohen, of Palmerston. North, who has just returned from a visit to the Old Country, says Now Zealand is splendidly represented in London by the Iluu W., P. Reeves, our Agent-General, who loses no opportunity of pushing forward this colony’s interests. Tho Agent-GenomT.s office is a boon to .the travelling Maorilander, who finds in it a haven of refuge and place of friends—a, great relief from _ the op_ pressivo loneliness and immensity of a groat city like London.
