A DESERVING CASE.
AN APPEAL FOR SUPPORT. It appears that tho widow of the late •las. Wilson, who was drowned from the Ladybird coal-hulk on Saturday last, is left entirely destitute. What adds to the adversity of tho widow is that she has a family of fivo children dependent upon her, tho eldest of whom is twaivo and the youngest three years. As the cure of these children will take up all the mother's time, it has been determined to appeal to tho public for monetary assistaco. Messrs W. H. Scoouxi, coal foreman to the Westport Coal Company, Limited, J. Smith, of the U-S-.f.. Co., J. Bruton, H. Hayes, of the BlackBall Coal Company and Henry C. Fuller, president of the Wharf Labourers’ TTnion, have been appointed a committee to undertake tho raising of funds to. assist the distressed family. On beJia f of the committee wo commend this case to public consideration, and any money sent, to us for the purpose mentioned will lie duly acknowledged in unr columns.
