I HEREBY give notice that separate Polls of the ratepayers will he taken j on TUESDAY, the 28th day of AUGUST 1900, on the proposal of the City Council 1 of Wellington to borrow—1. The sum of .£25,000 for acquiring the block of land bounded by Fraser's lane on the South, Mqlesworth street on the West, Wingfield street on the North and Hulgrave street on the East, in order to wideh Fraser’s lane i and Wingfield street, and to extend the latter street through to Mulgrare street. The sum of d;18,000 for the purpose of widening the undermentioned streets, viz,:— Adelaide road from the Basin Reserve to John street (east side). And I further give notice that such Polls will be faken at the Sydney street Schoolroom, the City Council Chambers, Brandon street, the Foresters’ Hall, Tory street, and the Victoria Hall, Adelaide road, and that pursuant to the provisions of “The Local Government Voting Reform Net, 1899,’’ the said proposals respectively will be deemed to b’e carried if the number of valid votes recorded in favour of the proposals exceeds the number of valid votes recorded against the same.
