ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
THE MOTU CANOE DISASTER. I'KESS ASSOCIATION. AUCKLAND* August 20. The steamer Tevranora' yesterday picked up one of the bodies drowned by tlie Motu canoe accident, forty miles from tbe scene of tlie disaster. The natives bare now tapuod all tbe iisbing grounds from Tekaba to Matatu for one year, thus depriving themselves of one ol tbeir ebief articles of food. Four other bodies have been found since previous advices. The body of I’aora Arapeta was east ashore at Tokaroa, and a, little further along tbe remains of .MereTleeni Waewae was found. The body of AJ illi Arapeta was washed up at Torere. and another little girl near the same place. CHRISTCHURCH, August 20. A six-year-old son of Air .John A. Richmond was run over by a dray this evening, and instantaneously killed.
