Mr W. F. Shortt will sell at ids rooms, Willis street, at 2 p.m. to-day, an excellent assortment of trimmed and iintrinimed straw hats, which were slightly bent in transit. Also gents’ waterproofs, boots and some lengths of tweed. At 2 p.m. to-morrow, Hearn's .f. H. lioUnine and Co. will sell, by public, auction, at their rooms. Feat hers ton street, a largo consignment of II eases splendid powering plants from Air J. W. Morshead’s South road Nursery', New Plymouth. The catalogue contains no less than 232 lota, including new and special varieties of roses, camellias, azaleas, pohntukawas, native 'shrubs, conifene. bulbs ami tubers, all of which will he on view to-day at the rooms of the auctioneers. Tenders are invited hy the Official Assignee up till noon of Monday next for the hook- debts in several bankrupt estates, details of which appear in an advertisement. Tenders will be received hy Mr Loddcr, of the City Buffet Hotel, up till noon of the 25th inst.. for the work of connecting a house in Emmi street with the new drainage system. On Thursday and Friday next speculators and those in search of good furniture at auction prices will he afforded a rare ornortnnily of securing excellent value in furniture, when Messrs Macdonald, Wilson and Co., under instructions from Mr J. Man del.- will sell, without: reserve, the whole of the furniture and fittings at present contained in the old part of the Empire Hotel, which is to lie milled down. These will include the contents of the sittingrooms, 'dining-room, commercial room and the contents of 20 bedrooms. The order of sale, will he announced later on. A splendid selection of well-made highart furniture will he auctioned by Messrs Sidey and, Co., at their rooms, Manners street, at 2 o’clock this afternoon. This will he u chance in if thousand to, those furnishing or about to do so. The Secretary of the Wellington Horticultural and Florists’ Society announces that, prize-winners at the reecnt show mi obtain their prize-money now at Mr F. Cooper's, Manners street. Messrs Turnbull and Watkins advertise a, splendid dairy farm for sale. The property consists, of 180 acres, highly improved, and is described as one of the best in Hie North Island. Consignees of cargo by the baroue Soutliesk are notified that the general average adjustment is to hand, and their refunds are now obtainable.
