Tho Customs returns for yesterday amounted to £l-105 9s. Tlio prospectus of a company which is being floated to take owr the oldestablished brewery business of 31 r J. Mandl, of Hokitika, is published in our advertisement columns this morning: The company is to bo formed with a capital of £40,000 in 8000 shares of £5 each, tho vendor receiving £20.000, of which sum £6500 is to be paid h.\ means of partly.paid-up shares. The business was established nineteen years ago, and the output- has gradually increased since then, the output tor last year totalling 2532 hogsheads, yielding a not profit of £3OOO. Application for shares may ho made, to tho Wellington branch of tho Bank of New Zealand. CO3I3IEJ.ICI.AIi CABLES. TRESS ASSOCIATION. LONi/UN. July 11. The quantity of wheat and flour afloat for the United Kingdom is 2,225,000 quarters, and for the Continent 1,320,000 quarters. At tho tallow sales 1375 casks were offered, and 450 sold. Mutton—Fine, unchanged, at 37s 3d per cwt: medium, unchanged, at 20s. Beef—-Fine, unchanged, at 275; medium, unchanged, at 25s Gd. There was a good sale of wool yesterday, with prices showing a hardening tendency, and Continental buyers operating freely. The sales included the following clips : “Eldorslic,” Hid ; ‘tNgatapu,” 6|d.
