The French steamer St. Louis arrived at Auckland from Newcastle on Wednesday with 1850 tons of Stockton coal. The Tyser liner Indradevi, now at Auckland, shipped 561 bales wool, 3830 bags ore, and 13,225 bars lead at Sydney. Australian advices state dat the American barque Alice left New York for Wellington and Auckland on May 2nd. The barque Cereda lias been chartered to load at New York for Australian or Now Zealand ports. The barque Wenona arrived at Newcastle from Sydney on the night of the 12tb inst., to load coal for Mr S. Brown, of this city. The Mapourika returned from Lyttelton yesterday morning for the purpose of laying up hero for a time. During i.,is period advantage will be taken to carry out the proposed enlargement of the steerage accommodation, which has been found to be inadequate for the coastal trade.
