The attendance was large, hut speculation was not so brisk' as usual, only £3757 being put through the .machines. Owing to continual heavy rains the course was rather heavy. Coin and Kauri Gum raced locked together for about a furlong, when Roller took command and Coin and Kauri Gum gave way to Troubadour.
