(Received January 21,' 5 pan.) . SYDNEY, January 21

The Premier lias, received .a cable, message from the Imperial authorities requesting that the transports conveying the second draft of colonial troops should call at Port Elizabeth or Durban for orders. The masters of all the vessels except the Southern Cross, which has sailed direct, will bo instructed to this effect.

It -was' recently suggested that the. Admiralty should provide, a convoy for the troopships leaving Australian ports, but it was not thought necessary to carry the proposal into effect. The Admiral has, however, informed the Admiral commanding the Capo station of the departure of the vessels.
