AQUATICS.

The yacht Greyhound, which was dismasted in the voyage from Picton to Wellington, and was towed back to the former port by the Oreti, was brought ■across from the Sounds port on the deck of the Rotorua. Mr A. H. Turnbull’s half-rater came back from Nelson by the Haupiri on Thursday. The final heat of the Senior Pairs, Wellington Rowing Club, was rowed last evening, when W. J. Spencer (stroke), P. J. Ellison (bow), Osborne (cox) defeated J. McKenzie (stroke), W. Duff (bow) Seymour (eox) by a length and a half. The first round of the Scott Pours will be started on Monday evening. The Consul for the Wellington, district (Mr J. T. Grace) has received a telegram from the captain of the Lyttelton Swimming Club to the effect that the Lyttelton Club’s representatives will arrive by the steamer Zealandia to-day, ©n route to Sydney to take part in the swimming carnival to be held in that city. A Press Association message received from Christchurch last night stated; —Messrs Oleary, Rich and Sinclair, left to-night by the Zealandia to represent the Lyttelton Swimming Club at the Australasian championships in Sydney. PRESS ASSOCIATION. CHRISTCHURCH, Friday. At the adjourned meeting of the Swimming Association, Mr St. dair, of Auckland, was present, and explained his system of provincial representation. It was decided that the meeting was of opinion that the constitution of the association should be altered to provide for the institution of provincial centres. It was decided to allot all the championships of the present season to Auckland, providing that the amalgamation proposals are carried into effect. .
