VOLUNTEER NEWS
The members of the Wellington Navals intend presenting Mrs Finn with a testimonial as a marie of their esteem for ‘Sergeant-Major Finn, who has been transferred to Napier. The Wellington Navals paraded at the forts at the Heads on Saturday afternoon for a manning parade. Advantage was taken of the beautiful weather and there was a, large muster, over two-thirds of the company being on parade. Commander Campbell was in charge, and the various forts were manned as -follows; —FOrtr Ballance, by Lieutenant Bell’s squad; Fort Kau Point, by Lieutenant Cooper's squad; and Fort Gordon by Lieutenant Biss’s squad. Lieutenant Handyside assisted Lieutenant Bell at Fort Ballance. The men were exercised jn gunnery, signalling, telephones and range finding.
