October 27. • Miss Annie May Abbott tho , Little Georgia Magnet/, gave typo of hep marvellous performances to big audiences, and very generously turned ; over, onefourth of the Theatre receipts to the Mayor as a. ncst-ogg for a Transvaal relief fund. A meeting has been called to supplement the donation and to raise further funds for the same purpose. - , • Miss Abbott has quite recently left South Africa,.,where.she had toured the whole country, giving- her wonderful entertainment. Only a -few months since she was the guest of Commandant Symonds at Ladysmith, and exhibited to the soldiers encamped there. She also performed at Pretoria, under the patronage of the Transvaal Government officials. She anticipates extreme suffering throughout South Africa in', consequence of the outlanders having' to ■leave, their homes and avocations to avoid the Boers. ■
