OPPOSITION PARTI.' CHANGE IN LEADERSHIP. - (Received August 23, 10.58 p.m.) SYDNEY, Wednesday. Ab an, Opposition caucus Mr Barton lesignbd tiie leadership of the party. He stated that, having accomplished his work' itt, regard to federation, he no longer needed to retain the position. When the Legislative Assembly met to-day Mr Barton explained that, having pledged himself not to raise the fiscal issue this Parliament, he found that'a majority of the Opposition was against him on that point, and he therefore decided to retire from the leadership. . > Mr Lyno has been appointed to suoceed Mr Barton, and will probably move a motion of censure on the Government to-morrow.
