Further details have been received i,f the deaths of Colonel Klohb and Lieutenant Meunior in the French Soudan.

It appears that they were catching up to the force under Captains Voulet and Chanoine.

They were to arrest those officers lor brutality to the natives. % Voulet ordered a fusiladc to be opened on the pursuers, by which both of them wove killed.

Voulet and Chaiioinc- have taken rciuge in the bush, A French mission, under M. Fourcau and Colonel Laing has started in pursuit. . .

The tragedy has caused much pain in France, and the hope is expressed tnat it is the outcome, of madness, due to the heat of the tropics. '
