The' painter of the dingy was tied round his waist. This was probably done after the dingy capsized. A verdict of found drowned was returned at the inquest. The cutter Willie Winkie has been found smashed up at Waiheke. Nothing has transpired in connection with the mysterious disappearance of Alexander O. Meredith, of Pukeakahu. It now appears he left his brother's house in Abel Smith street on the morning of the 7th inst. for Manawatu Station, en route for Huntervillo, where he had left hia horse. Whether he took the train or not is purely a matter of conjecture,, as nothing has been seen or heard of him since. A horse attached to a vehicle, which contained a sewing machine, and belonging to the City Supply Company, bolted in Cambridge terrace yesterday afternoon. The vehicle collided with a cart standing near to the Cambridge Hotel and turned completely upside down, smashing it to pieces, and also making a wreck of the sewing machine.
