The Board of Agriculture states that the Departmental Committee appointed to consider the effect of the use of pre servatives in food has reported that- the limit of butter-fat in margarine cannot be reduced below 10 per cent, without disadvantage. FINANCES OF QUEENSLAND. BRISBANE, Monday. The revenue of the colony in the year just closed increased by £400,000 as compared with that of the previous year, and 'the expenditure increased by £27.000, the receipts exceeding the expenditure by £149,000. - VICTORIAN TRADE. MELBOURNE, Monday, During the half-year just closed the trade of the colony showed a considerable improvement. The position in genera is much sounder, and the outlook for the second half of the year distinctly promising.
