PERSONAL.
Among the passengers from Auckland for Wellington by the Rotoiti are Messrs Herries and Kaihau, M.’sH.R. Mr C. A. Green, Commissioner for the Philadelphian Museum of Industries, will leave by train this morning for New Plymouth, eu route to Auckland, where he will join the San Francisco steamor for America. Mr Green expresses hnnse f as having had a very pleasant stay in New Zealand, and his mission to the colonies will, he thinks, prove, on the whole, successful. At a meeting held at Karori on Friday last the parisluoners of St. Mary’s presented the departing incumbent, the Rev P. L. Cameron, with a purse of sovereigns. The presentation was made by the Mayor (Mr R. C. Bulkley). The incumbent’s churchwarden (Mr J. W. Henderson) occupied the chair. There was a large attendance, and general regret was expressed at Mr Cameron’s departure, and the best wishes for his future welfare.
