FURTHER EXPLANATION OF THE AGREEMENT. . (Received May 11, 1.30. a.m.) LONDQN, Wednesday. In the House of Commons, the Right Hon. W. St. John Brodrick, Undersecretary for Foreign Affairs, explained that under Great Britain’s agreement with Russia regarding the Yangtse-Ki-ang Valley it was provided that no portion of that region which was now Great Britain’s peculiar sphere would ever be leased, mortgaged or alienated to any other Power. ' Besides this, the Right Hon Mr Brodrick stated that Great Britain’s Treaty rights' to territory north of the Great Wall of China would remain intact.
