ENGLISH SHIPPING DISASTER.
UTILITY OF WIRELESS TELEGRAPHY. (Received May 1, 1.35 a.m.) LONDON, Sunlry. A steamer during a fog collided with and greatly damaged a lightship on the Goodwin Sands. The latter utilised Signor Marconi’s wireless telegraphy and obtained help from Ramsgate. [Ramsgate is a well-known watering place on the coast of Kent, and seventytwo miles from London. The lightship of the Goodwin Sands would be distant' some seven or eight miles.]
