WELLINGTON RUGBY UNION. A meeting of the Management Committee was held on Wednesday night. Present—Messrs Galbraith (chairman). Bate, McKenzie, Morris, hon secretary and hon treasurer. The Treasurer reported that the cost of erecting a dressing shed at Miramar would be .£‘l4 10s. It was decided that the chairman, Messrs Morris and Pagni should wait upon the Petono Borough Council in reference to the terms asked by the latter for the use of the Petone Recreation Ground. It was decided to grant the Kia Ora Club a subsidy of £1 towards the cost of two grounds. , A letter was received from the Referees Association stating that it had been decided that the members should use every effort in their power to detect cases of improper conduct amongst spectators, with the view of having the matter brought under the notice of the proper authorities. The committee passed a resolution expressive of its appreciation of the association’s action, and undertaking to assist it in every possible way. In reference to a letter from the Wairarapa Union asking that home and Rome junior representative matches should be arranged, it was decided to reply, asking if the country team could play not later than 2.30 p.m., as otherwise there would be a financial loss on a match played in Wellington, which the union was not in a position to incur. It was resolved that matches at Miramar should not begin until 3.15 p.m. Messrs Galbraith and Coffey were appointed timekeepers for the matches to be played at the Athletic Park next Saturday.
