POLICE EMPLOY A SPY.
MAGISTRATE’S- REPRIMAND
vV PRESS ASSOCIATION. Wanganui, February 24/ Samuel Hunter,, storekeeper, of Raetihi, seventy miles inland from Wanganui, was to-dav "fined £2. with costs £l4, for sly orog-selling. The Stipendiary Magistrate (Sir Kettle) reprimanded the police for employing a paid spy to secure a- conviction, and' said it .was an illegal act to aid or abet in the committal of a crime. ~
