FAILURE IST SOUTH AUSTRALIA. Eeceive3 January 25, 10.45 pit). Adelaide, January 25. The last of the village settlements established some years ago on the Murray river has collapsed. This particular one differed from the others in that it was run on similar altruistic lines to tho “ New Australia” venture in Paraguay, inaugurated by Mr “William Lane, of Queensland —now known as the Cosme Colony. Dissensions have been apparent for some time among the settlers, of whom only four remain. They now desire to acquire tho settlement as a private undertaking.
